The Welder will:
- Arc weld metal components (primarily mild steel) in adherence to AWS D1.1.
- Routinely produce multi-pass groove and fillet welds up to and including the 3G position (flat, horizontal, and vertical)
- Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications.
- Inspect finished work for conformance to all specifications.
- Make weld repairs to damaged or non-conforming parts including surface build-up or plug welding.
- Engage in other work required for welding processes including oxy-fuel burning, arc gouging, finish grinding, flame straightening, etc.
- Operate hoists or cranes to move and position parts.
- Work at heights as needed.
- Comply with all Butech Bliss safety rules.
- Perform other related duties assigned by supervision.
Strong candidates for this position will meet the following expectations:
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in flux core arc welding with the ability to weld 1/16” – 3/32” diameter wires.
- Prior experience producing weldments that require multi-pass fillet and/or groove welds.
- Successful completion of a hands-on weld test is required.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, bend, reach, push and pull.
- Applicants must be willing to work overtime when available, including Saturday.
