Night Shift Superintendent

Summary: Plan, direct, or coordinate night shift manufacturing operations of several facilities. Plan the use of materials and human resources on night shift in support of the manufacturing operations of the plants.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Oversee activities directly related to making products or providing services.
  • Motivates, develops, and directs individuals as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of departments concerned with the production of products.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  • Supervises night shift staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities between departments and shifts.
  • Conducts performance reviews of assigned staff.
  • Recommends and executes corrective actions.
  • Make recommendations to Plant Manager on night shift staffing requirements.
  • Coordinate the OJT of new night shift employees.
  • Enforces safe work practices.
  • Complies with all Butech Bliss safety rules.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Travel to customer, supplier, job site, and company locations as required. 
  • Operate a personal or company-owned vehicle for business purposes. 
  • Transport documents, equipment, parts, materials, or other business-related items as needed. 
  • Maintain authorization as a Company Driver in accordance with company policy.  

Education and/or Experience:
  • Associate’s degree in a technical discipline, or combination of education and experience.
  • Additional training or education in management or supervisory principles.
  • Training or certification in a Lean or Six Sigma discipline is preferred.
  • Five plus years supervisory experience in manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Experience in complex, heavy machines, or job shop environment.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Qualifications:
  • Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision or assistance.
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Valid driver's license required. 
  • Must meet and maintain Company Driver eligibility requirements and an acceptable Motor    Vehicle Record (MVR). 
  • Must maintain required automobile insurance when operating a personal vehicle for company business. 
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally overnight as business needs require. 
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, reach, push and pull.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
