Electrical Engineering Internship

Summary: The Electrical Engineer Intern will assist in the design, programming, and implementation of industrial control systems for coil processing equipment. This position provides exposure to real-world engineering challenges and opportunities to work alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Duration: May 2026 – August 2026
Compensation: This is a paid internship opportunity.
Hours Expectations: Requested average of 40 hours per week as needed


Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the design of electrical panels using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Learn to interpret PCC ladder logic and perform pre‑term I/O checkout
  • Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC code and machine safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on projects related to coil processing lines (e.g., Cut-to-Length, Push-Pull Pickle Lines).
  • Help with panel build and assembly cables
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC and HMI programming (Allen Bradley preferred).
  • Familiarity with AC drive systems and low-voltage power distribution.
  • Experience or coursework in AutoCAD Electrical design.
  • Understanding of NEC code and machine safety principles.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, crouch, push/pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Must meet physical and safety requirements for tool handling.
