Summary: The Machine Shop Laborer supports daily machining operations by performing material handling, basic machine assistance, shop organization, and general labor tasks. This role ensures the machine shop runs safely, efficiently, and smoothly by assisting machinists, maintaining work areas, and preparing materials for production.
$3,000 Sign-On Bonus

The Machine Shop Laborer will:
- Move raw materials, finished parts, and tooling throughout the shop using carts, forklifts, or pallet jacks.
- Support machinists by loading/unloading parts, removing chips, and preparing work areas.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized workstations; empty chip bins; dispose of scrap properly.
- Perform basic visual inspections and use simple measuring tools (calipers, tape measures).
- Clean, deburr, and package finished parts for delivery or internal transfer.
- Restock consumables, maintain inventory levels, and assist with toolroom requests.
- Assist with shop projects, maintenance tasks, and other duties as assigned.
Strong candidates for this position will meet the following expectations:
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Manufacturing or machine shop experience preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machining processes.
- Familiarity with hand tools and measuring tools is a plus.
- Forklift experience or certification preferred (training may be provided).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night hours.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Exposure to noise, metal chips, oils, and moving machinery
- Requires use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel‑toe boots.
- May require overtime or weekend work depending on production needs.
